So, you’ve opened your Alexa bluetooth speaker and are giddy with excitement to get it going. Before you start asking hilarious questions and building up a friendship, you’ll need to hook it up to the internet. But how do you do it?

The easiest way to connect your device is through the Alexa app:

  1. Open the Alexa app
  2. Select ‘devices’ in the bottom right hand corner
  3. Choose ‘Echo & Alexa’ in the top-right corner
  4. Find and tap the Alexa device you want to connect
  5. Hit ‘status’
  6. Choose ‘change’
  7. Select the network you want to connect to and enter the password

If for whatever reason you don’t have the app and can’t download it, there is another route:

  1. Visit alexa.amazon.com and sign in to your account
  2. Go to ‘settings’
  3. Click ‘device’ and then choose ‘set up new device’ from the drop-down menu
  4. Select the Alexa device you want to connect
  5. Connect your computer to the device by choosing the network with Amazon-XXX format
  6. Return to the Amazon website and click ‘continue’
  7. Choose the network you want your Alexa to connect with and enter the password
