Is there a download limit on Spotify?

Last updated: 11 March 2022

Music streaming platform Spotify allows customers to download content to listen to when the internet isn’t available. Spotify Premium subscribers can download albums, songs, playlists, and podcasts, while users on the free version of Spotify can download podcasts. But is there a limit to how much you can download?

Unfortunately, Spotify restricts downloads to 10,000 songs per device. For Premium customers, that means you can download up to 10,000 songs onto each of the five devices linked to their account. You can save more than 10,000 songs to your library - a limit Spotify lifted in 2020 - but you won’t be able to download all of them.

You’ll also need to go online at least once every 30 days to keep your content downloaded. This is so Spotify can collect play data.

Beyond Spotify’s limit, you may also be limited by the amount of storage available on your device. In some cases, you may have to delete downloaded songs or other content from your device to download more content from Spotify.
