What is EE TV?

EE TV, previously known as BT TV, is a digital TV subscription service with a range of flexible packages to choose from.

Based on the package you choose, you can access Freeview and premium channels including sports, entertainment and films. Some bundles also include a subscription to streaming services like Netflix.

EE TV must be bought as part of or alongside a broadband and TV package from EE or BT; it is not available as a standalone service. You can choose between different TV boxes to watch your content, including an Apple TV 4K, an EE TV Box Pro or an EE TV Box Mini.

Read on to find out what content you can watch on EE TV, how much it costs, and how to subscribe.

What TV packages does EE offer?

EE broadband customers can choose to add the following to their package:

  • Entertainment, which includes Sky Atlantic, Sky Crime, Sky News, Sky Max and more, plus discovery+ Entertainment and a Netflix Standard subscription with ads.
  • Big Entertainment, which includes all of the above plus all 11 Sky Cinema channels.
  • Sport, which allows you to watch Premier League, Champions League and Europa League Football as well as Moto GP and Formula E. It includes all four TNT Sports channels in HD and TNT Sports Ultimate in 4K HD.
  • Big Sport, which includes all of the above plus all 12 Sky Sports channels in HD through NOW TV.
  • Full Works, which includes all of Big Sport and Big Entertainment with an upgraded Netflix subscription without ads.

These packages must be combined with an EE broadband deal, the speed of which depends on what's available where you live. You can choose between an EE TV Box Mini, Apple TV 4K or EE TV Box Pro to watch your content.

You can further tailor each package by adding some subscriptions such as Apple TV+, NOW Cinema, NOW Sports, NOW Hayu or TNT Sports.

We love that EE TV packages are completely flexible, available on a monthly rolling basis as well as longer-term contracts. You could take out a certain package for a month, then switch to another the following month without going through the hassle of changing TV box or contract (you will have to pay whatever the difference is, though).

How can I get EE TV?

Taking out an EE TV subscription is relatively straightforward, but you will have to be an existing EE broadband customer or take out one of the provider's broadband deals at the same time to be eligible.

To check whether you are eligible for an EE broadband deal, you can use the free postcode checker at the top of this page. Once you choose a deal you like the look of, click on "View deal" and follow the instructions on the provider's website.

You can choose to add any TV package you like from the offering above to your deal before you check out, and select the box you'd like to watch your content.

If you're an existing EE or BT broadband customer, just head to your provider's website and under "Broadband and TV deals", click "Add TV to your broadband" to see all the packages on offer.

How much does EE TV cost?

It's hard to say how much EE TV packages cost as this depends on the broadband speed you can access in your area. BT says you can add TV to your package starting at just £1, but this will vary according to the broadband package you choose.

Looking at the price of individual services available through EE TV, NOW memberships are very similar if not the same as getting them directly through NOW. That said, new EE customers can sometimes score good deals on services like Apple TV+.

EE TV packages come with no upfront fees, which helps keep the overall cost of your deal down. A box of your choice is included in every package, but you can choose to add extra EE TV boxes for an extra fee (£5 per month for a single, £10 per month for two).

Frequently Asked Questions about EE TV

After it acquired EE in 2016, BT rebranded its TV services to EE TV, which has essentially replaced all of BT TV. The content is much the same, however, as is the hardware you get when you take out an EE TV deal.
