About John Lewis

John Lewis has been a household name ever since the company’s creation in the mid-19th century and is considered a staple of British retail. They have since added various broadband packages to their already extensive portfolio of products and services.

John Lewis & Plusnet

John Lewis has teamed up with Sheffield-based telecoms giant Plusnet, to create John Lewis Broadband. This means that they are a trading name of John Lewis plc (Waitrose, John Lewis stores) but the services are provided and contracted with Plusnet plc., who are especially well-known for their reliable customer service.

John Lewis Broadband Packages

John Lewis Broadband offer three simple broadband deals, ranging from standard ADSL copper wire connection to full fibre broadband. All deals come with unlimited downloads as standard, so you don’t have to worry about curbing your surfing habits. Let’s take a look at what’s available:

  • Unlimited: Using standard ADSL copper wire connection to provide average speeds of 10Mbps. This is ideal for everyday surfing and occasional video watching.
  • Fibre: This superfast fibre optic cable connection brings average speeds of 36Mbps to your property, making it ideal for watching HD videos and online gaming.
  • Fibre Extra: If you want even faster fibre connection, servicing several simultaneous users, then this is the one for you. Providing average speeds of 66Mbps it’s more than adequate for large families and those living in shared accommodation.

You also get BullGuard included in the price. BullGuard is a basic PC security programme that provides your computer with a firewall, spam filter, antivirus software and more to make sure your machine runs smoothly.

John Lewis Broadband also monitors web traffic, which prioritises things like video calling and online gaming, to ensure the neediest users don’t suffer from service interruptions. You might, however, see slower speeds for other tasks at peak times.
