Origin offer a range of basic packages including three different types of connection speed which all come equipped with line rental. Origin currently don't offer any live or on demand television services as part of their broadband deals, but do have some solid offers with high speeds at very competitive prices.
Simplicity and accessibility are at the heart of everything Origin does. That’s why they only offer three different types of broadband coverage, all lasting 18 months: Origin Broadband, Origin Superfast and Origin Max Fibre.
This no-nonsense approach ensures customers only pay for what they need. And with the option to pay monthly or up-front, you’ll be confident you’re getting a good deal.
All Origin Broadband runs on the Openreach Network, meaning they provide the same standard of connection as major competitors like BT, Sky, TalkTalk and Vodafone.

Line Rental is included at no extra cost with all Origin packages, since they use copper telephone wires to bring connection to your house.

Once you’ve purchased broadband from Origin, you’ll receive your free Asus N-series router. For the Origin package you get theDSL-N14, and for Superfast and Fibre Max packages it’s the DSL-N16.
Luckily for you, these also act as the modem, so you really just need to plug in and go. They’re strong enough to provide decent signal around the home, but if you live in a large house or shared accommodation then it’s worth looking into some Wi-Fi extenders.
You also have the chance to upgrade to two different, more powerful routers. For £89.99 you can have the Asus DSL-AC56U, which uses powerful Wireless AC standards to provide connection to up to 10 devices.
If that’s still not enough, then for £129.99 you will get the Asus DSL-AC68U; the most powerful router Origin offer. Also using, Wireless AC standards, it provides reliable to connection to up to 15 devices. Perfect or large families or those living in shared accommodation.
Switching to Origin broadband couldn’t be easier. Once you’ve decided which is the right package for your internet needs, the transfer team at Origin will arrange everything with your previous supplier.
Because they’re on the Openreach network too, you are likely to not even need an engineer visit. They just send you your new hub in the post and keep you informed as the process moves forward.
If you’re not happy with your Origin service and want to switch, you should always compare broadband deals thoroughly to make sure you’re spending your money in the best way.
As a budget provider, Origin’s focus is on reliable, no-nonsense internet service. They certainly achieve this and enjoy and enviable customer service reputation.
In June 2020, Trustpilot reported 51% “Excellent” reviews, and only 25% “Bad” ones. That’s pretty remarkable stuff for an ISP.
Origin like to keep costs low, and the service clear. Their three 18-month packages range from £19.99 per month to £27.99 per month.
These deals are also available as single up-front costs, ranging from £208.99 to £439.99. The savings here as negligible, but it can the most worry-free option.

If you cancel your Origin deal early, then you’ll simply have to pay for the remaining months. There’s an additional charge of £40 if you fail to return the modem upon cancellation, but they will reimburse you the postage cost up to £3.50.
