Sky's 2021 Black Friday deals
Black Friday falls on 26 November this year, with its online counterpart Cyber Monday kicking off on 29 November. Imported from the US several years ago, these days are when retailers first slash their prices in the run-up to Christmas.
While Black Friday and Cyber Monday are often thought of as times to snag much-coveted electronics for eye-popping prices, they’re also a smorgasbord for broadband and mobile deals. So mark your calendars.
Will Sky offer any Black Friday deals this year?
Sky usually pushes the boat out for Black Friday, with attention-grabbing offers on its broadband, pay-TV and mobile plans. It hasn’t yet confirmed its 2021 offers—check back a few days before 26 November—but its offers from previous years provide some tantalising clues.
Deals last year included:
- Superfast broadband for just £25 per month, a 30% discount
- Half price on some Sky TV add-ons, including Sky Sports, Sky Cinema and Sky Kids
- Half price on 30GB mobile plans with any phone—that’s right, even the most recent 5G models including the iPhone 12 and Samsung S20, with savings of up to £540
In 2021, we expect Sky will offer deep discounts on the iPhone 13, Samsung Galaxy S21 and even the Galaxy Z Fold 3. It may also slash the monthly cost of its Ultrafast Plus broadband package, launched in July, with speeds of 500Mbps.
Don't dally on these deals. Sky’s Black Friday blowout usually ends at midnight on Cyber Monday.
Does Sky charge set-up costs on Black Friday?
If you’re a new Sky Broadband customer, you will need to pay £9.95 upfront to cover the shipping of your router (along with other costs if you're getting TV as well). These don't tend to be waived on Black Friday, but the overall savings do tend to balance that out.
