Which broadband provider offers the best TV bundles?

Last updated: 15. 01. 2020

It has become increasingly popular for broadband deals to be offered with TV services included. Whilst these bundles have always been offered by Virgin Media and Sky, other broadband providers such as BT and TalkTalk have recently began offering them too. These deals allow you to save money and not have the hassle of having two different providers for your TV and internet services.

To ensure you get the right package including the best prices and a download limit which matches your needs, check out the rest of this guide outlining some of the most popular packages offered by the mainstream broadband providers in the UK.

Why should I bundle my broadband and TV?

Buying your TV and broadband in a joint package is often cheaper than if you buy them separately. A bundle also makes sense for most customers as with most broadband providers you will have to pay for your landline connection to receive your internet anyway.

You should note that bundles sometimes require providers to have given an upgrade to the services in your local area and without this, you may find yourself paying extra costs.

Which broadband providers offer TV bundles?

Sky TV bundles

Broadband Essential + Entertainment.

This bundle costs £44.50 a month for the first 18 months and offers unlimited broadband with average speeds of 11Mbps. It also includes access to Sky channels such as Sky Atlantic and Sky Arts as well as Sky One and Two. This bundle includes the line rental in the price, so you won’t have any extra fees except for the £40 set up fee. This package would be best for small families using a limited number of devices

Broadband Superfast + Entertainment.

This bundle is slightly more expensive at £51.50 for the first 18 months. For this higher price you can expect to enjoy unlimited broadband at an average download speed of 59Mbps. This also includes the same TV package. As with the other package, there is no line rental fee, but you do have to pay a set up fee of around £40.

BT TV bundles

BT TV entertainment with Superfast Fibre and Weekend Calls.

This package costs £51.99 a month for the first 18 months and £66.99 a month thereafter. Customers can expect unlimited broadband access at an average of 50Mbps. The TV package includes 50 premium channels and BT Sport free for the first three months. There is an up-front cost of £19.99 to set up the service.

BT TV Entertainment with Superfast Fibre 2 and Weekend Calls.

This package costs £59.99 a month for the first 18 months and £78.99 a month thereafter. This package offers all the same benefits as the previous deal but for the extra price customers can expect average internet speeds of 67Mbps.

Virgin Media TV bundles

Virgin Media offer a wide range of bundles with prices ranging from £29.00 per month to up to £99.00 per month.

The basic Virgin Media Big Bundle costs only £29.00 per month for the first year but then increases dramatically to £59.00 per month afterwards. Customers can expect speeds of up to 108Mbps. Customers choosing this package will also receive access to up to 110 channels and the ability to record up to six shows at once using the Virgin TV box.

At the other end of the spectrum is the Virgin Media Ultimate Oomph bundle which costs £99.00 per month for the first 12 months and £139.00 per month afterwards. The average internet speed customers can expect is a whopping 516Mbps. Customers on this package will also gain access to up to 280 TV channels.

TalkTalk TV bundles

TalkTalk TV with Fast Broadband + TV Entertainment.

Coming in at a much lower price of £35.95 per month for the first 18 months and £46.00 thereafter, TalkTalk customers choosing this package will enjoy unlimited internet at an average speed of 11Mbps. Customers will also gain access to TalkTalk TV which offers a large range of films and access to channels such as Sky One and National Geographic.

TalkTalk TV with Faster Fibre + Entertainment.

TalkTalk also offer a premium package at a slightly higher price of £40.00 per month for the first 18 months and £52.00 per month thereafter. This package offers much higher internet speeds at around 38Mbps whilst also offering the same benefits as the other package.

Who provides the best TV bundles?

Finding the best bundle really depends on your needs. Those in a smaller home with only a few devices may be perfectly happy with standard broadband speeds, but those hoping to use the broadband for a lot of streaming, gaming or downloading may be better off paying a premium price.
