Design & Appearance
The iPhone 7 measures 138.3 x 67.1 x 7.1mm and weighs in at 138 grams, making it one of the smallest smartphones currently available from Apple.
It comes in a variety of colour options, including silver, gold, rose gold, black, jet black or PRODUCT(RED). Despite being popular, space grey is not one of the colours that the iPhone 7 comes in.
Camera
The iPhone 7 comes with a large aperture f/1.8 12MP camera which includes optical image stabilisation. It can take much brighter photos and videos with much more detail than its predecessors. The iPhone 7 also takes pictures with more vibrant colour due its wide colour capture.
The front-facing 7MP FaceTime HD camera comes with advanced pixel technology, auto image stabilisation, and wide colour capture for even better selfies.
Display
The iPhone 7 has a bright and colourful Retina HD display that features cinema-standardard colours thanks to its wide colour gamut. It also has great colour saturation and advanced colour management technology.
It also features a solid-state Home button that is responsive and durable, and works with the Taptic Engine to provide customisable tactile feedback.
Software & Features
The iPhone 7 supports iOS 13 so you can enjoy the improved Photos app and even the Dark Mode feature. Messages now allow you to share GIFs and fun visual effects, and there are loads of new apps that integrate with it, including Square Cash which allows you to send money from within the Messages app itself.
Siri can now even interact with apps for you. For example, you can ask Siri to book you a car via Uber or to send a message to a LinkedIn contact.
Performance
The A10 Fusion chip inside the iPhone 7 powers all the advanced architecture inside the device, whilst also managing power usage to get a long battery life between charges.
The A10 Fusion chip has four cores: two high-performance cores that run almost twice as fast than the iPhone 6’s, and two high-efficiency cores that can run using just 20% of the power of the high-performance cores.
Gaming and professional apps run smoother on the iPhone 7 thanks to its ability to run graphics up to three times faster than the iPhone 6 using just half the power.
