LG G8 ThinQ
As of June 2019 the G8 ThinQ is the flagship mobile phone model being produced by LG. Looking much like its predecessor (the G7) on the outside, the technology inside the device is a significant upgrade on that of the G7. The G8 does have the same display size and resolution as the G7, but this time LG have opted for an OLED screen instead of the older IPS LCD.
The G8 comes with Android 9 Pie and carries the Snapdragon 855 processor with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The G8 is also IP68 dust and water resistant, and carries a larger battery than its predecessor as well as two rear cameras (one 12MP with a 1.5 aperture, and the other 16MP with a 1.9 aperture). There’s also an 8MP front-facing camera for good measure.
Arguably, the most interesting feature of the G8 is its ‘Vein ID’ security method. Creating an image of the owner’s hand, it actually views blood vessels in order to unlock the phone.
LG V40 ThinQ
This is one of LG mobile’s newest models and epitomises their use of creative technologies to produce high quality, modern devices. The LG V40 ThinQ comes in an elegant Moroccan Blue shade, and possesses many innovative features such as premium sound, 3D light effect and triple shot. This device is not yet available on a monthly contract in the UK, but the handset can be bought from a range of stockists, including ao.com and Clove Technology, from £699.
LG K10 2017
The LG K10 2017 is an affordable LG model that features earlier versions of the company’s elegant and innovative design. With a capacity of 16GB and a sleek black design, this smartphone is a good compromise between modern mobile phone technology and an affordable price. Contracts start from £17.00 per month with no upfront cost, with many providers such as EE and Vodafone offering cashback deals to save you money in the long run.
LG G6
This model is between the LG V10 ThinQ and the K10 2017, both in terms of technology and price. Its capacity is 32GB and the device comes in either black or silver. In this case the colour you choose has a large effect on price - contracts for the silver model starting at just £17.00 per month, while the black version starts at £29.12. There is also a difference in which provider offers the best deal. While EE have the best range of options for the silver model, O2 is the better choice if you would like the phone in black.
*Average speeds are based on the download speeds that at least 50% of customers get between 8pm and 10pm (peak time). Remember that this is a rough guide, you may see higher or lower speeds than those listed here.
Some providers may increase their monthly costs during your contract. Check their individual sites for specific terms and conditions.
