Travelling within Europe

Your minutes, texts, and data will work just as they do within the UK if you’re using your phone anywhere within the Europe Zone, so you don’t need to worry about extra charges for calls, texts or data.

Travelling outside of Europe

Outside of the Europe Zone, the O2 Travel Bolt On is the best way to keep in touch with your friends and family whilst you travel.

The Bolt On allows you to use a data connection whilst you’re away, without you having to worry about a nasty surprise when you receive your bill when you get back home.

The O2 Travel Inclusive Zone Bolt On

Included in selected sim-only and O2 Refresh tariffs, the O2 Travel Inclusive Zone Bolt On allows you to roam in 75 locales without any extra cost to you.

For 27 international O2 Travel destinations, including Australia and the USA, you’ll receive a daily allowance of 120 minutes, 120 texts, and data roaming without limits.

As for the Europe Zone, your minutes, texts, and data allowances will work just as they do within the UK. So no matter where you are in the world, you can keep in touch with your friends and family.

How does O2 Travel work?

You’ll only be charged on the days that you use O2 Travel, with the daily charge applying from midnight to midnight UK time. This will be triggered if you use data, make calls, or send texts.

Your allowance will end at midnight and any unused data will not carry over to the next day.

You can check if you have O2 Travel by calling 4445, and you can get O2 Travel by texting TRAVELON to 21300.

What if I’m not eligible for the O2 Travel Inclusive Zone Bolt On?

If you aren’t eligible for the Bolt On you can still use O2 Travel and pay a fixed daily rate.

This will provide you with an allowance of 120 minutes, 120 texts, and all the data you require. There’s no usage limits on data roaming, but the speeds you receive may vary from one location to the next.

O2 Travel is only available on Pay Monthly tariffs for £4.99 a day, but is not available to customers on Pay As You Go. If you use a Spend Cap on your account, the cost of this Bolt On will not be included as part of the Spend Cap.

What if I’m on Pay As You Go?

O2 Travel Pay As You Go costs £1.99 a day and will allow you to keep connected if you are travelling in Jersey, Isle of Man, Guernsey, Switzerland or Monaco.

You’ll receive 100MB of data and receiving calls and texts is free. Calls you make to the UK will cost 4p per minute, and text messages cost 1p to send.

For countries outside these five the usual roaming rates will apply.
