Four of the major industry regulators in the UK are not doing enough to protect consumers, according to the National Audit Office.

Telecoms regulator Ofcom has secured £700,000 from the government for a project aimed at using blockchain technology to make switching broadband and telephone provider, and keeping familiar phone numbers, simpler.

Telecoms operator BT has announced a series of changes to its service offerings in a bid to rescue a customer base increasingly slipping away.

According to the company Servion, who undertook a study after being granted information by the financial ombudsman, the number of complaints which culminated in financial compensation rose by 15% in the past year for UK telecoms providers.
