About Community Fibre

Based in London, independent ISP Community Fibre claims to be the capital’s ‘fastest network’. And with average download speeds reaching a massive 920Mbps on its top-tier package, this claim certainly has some substance to it.

Community Fibre uses its own network of fibre optic cables to deliver high-speed internet to households across 23 of London’s 32 boroughs. Therefore, there is no need to have a phone line unlike many broadband providers, although there is an option to add calls and even TV should you wish.

What does Community Fibre offer?

Community Fibre offers four different broadband packages, with a huge difference in download speeds, ranging from 75Mbps on its entry-level plan up to 920Mbps on its premium package. All of Community Fibre’s broadband deals are available on either 12 or 24-month contracts.

75 Mbps Fibre Broadband

Community Fibre skips ADSL altogether with its entry-level superfast fibre deal, which provides impressive average download speeds of 75Mbps.

A huge selling point of the Superfast package, along with every other Community Fibre broadband deal, is that average upload speeds match that of the download speed. This is especially useful for people who work from home, play online games, or regularly upload large files.

This package is also great value, costing just £24.50 per month on a 12-month contract, but is even cheaper on a 24-month contract, at just £22 per month. For these speeds, we haven’t seen many cheaper deals elsewhere, if any!

150 Mbps Fibre Broadband

For something a bit faster, consider the 150Mbps Fibre package, which is Community Fibre's most basic ultrafast deal. As you'd expect from the name, it provides speedy average download and upload speeds of 150Mbps. 

It currently costs just £20 a month on a 24 month contract, but jumps to £22.50 per month if you want the added flexibility of 12 month plan. 

200 Mbps Fibre Broadband

The next level up is another one of Community Fibre's ultrafast packages, which offers average download and upload speeds of 200Mbps. This should suit most medium to large households.

Costing just £29.50 per month on a 12-month contract and £27.50 on a 24-month plan, we would highly recommend this deal if it’s available where you live. In fact, apart from Black Friday sales, we haven’t seen any broadband deal offering 200Mbps or more for less than £30!

500 Mbps Fibre Broadband

This is getting into serious territory now. Offering download and upload speeds of 500Mbps, there’s not much you and your family/housemates won’t be able to do online with this connection.

It’s also great value for money considering these speeds, as long as you can get it! It’s currently just £27 per month on a 2 year plan, or £29.50 per month on a 12-month contract.

1 Gbps Fibre Broadband

This is Community Fibre’s premium package, offering gigabit-capable download/upload speeds of 920Mbps. This is about as fast as you can get from any broadband connection in the UK, especially when it comes to upload speeds.

Another feature of Community Fibre’s gigafast package is that you’ll be provided with TWO Linksys Tri-Band Wifi routers, as opposed to one. This makes this package even more suited to large households, as your WiFi signal will be able to stretch that much further.

Unsurprisingly, this package is Community Fibre’s most expensive, setting you back £35 per month on a 24-month contract or £40.50 per month for 12 months. But considering this is one of the fastest available connections in the UK, it’s actually not bad value at all.

Is Community Fibre any good?

Because Community Fibre is a small and localised ISP with a relatively small customer base, it isn’t yet included in Ofcom’s annual customer satisfaction surveys.

It does, however, have over 12,000 reviews on Trustpilot, receiving an average score of 4.9 stars - the highest Trustpilot rating of any broadband provider in the UK.  A massive 96% of reviewers rated its service as excellent, while just 2% said it was poor.
