Highlights

The camera on the Galaxy S20 is one of the device’s biggest highlights. Samsung has boosted the tech specs on its triple rear-camera setup, including increased pixel sizes for better images in low light situations. Design & Appearance

The Samsung Galaxy S20 measures in at 151.7mm x 69.1mm x 7.9mm and weighs 163g, and comes in gray, blue and pink colour variations.

It is made from a combination of metal and glass, and is light, sturdy, and compact. The Galaxy S20 has extremely thin bezels and IP68 waterproofing, but does not feature a headphone jack.

Camera

The Samsung Galaxy S20 has a triple rear-camera setup. The main camera is an f/1.8 wide-angle lens that takes images at 12MP. The Galaxy S20 also features a 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide angle lens (13mm) for capturing more of your surroundings. The telephoto lens on the S20 has an aperture of f/2.0 and takes images at a whopping 64MP.

The front-facing camera on the Galaxy S20 is a 10 MP f/2.2 wide-angle camera for capturing that perfect selfie.

Display

The Galaxy S20 features a 6.2inch AMOLED display that is capable of a resolution of 3040x1440 but is set to a default resolution of Full HD+ at 2220 x 1080.

The display has a maximum refresh-rate of 120Hz - double the rate for most phones currently on the market. This makes scrolling and animations of the Galaxy S20 silky smooth.

Software & Features

The Samsung Galaxy S20 comes with Android 10 running Samsung’s own One UI 2.1. This features a file-sharing tool that can be used with other Samsung owners (similar to Apple’s AirDrop feature), and the option for your friends to connect to your Bluetooth speakers directly via your phone.

The UI is attractive and offers plenty of customisable options, though those switching from other Samsung models may find it a bit awkward at first.

Performance

The Galaxy S20 comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 chipset in the US market, but in the UK it comes with Samsung’s very own Exynos 990.

The performance difference will be hardly noticeable to the average user, but Snapdragon uses its multiple cores to greater effect whilst the Exynos delivers better single-core performance.
