The vast majority of UK addresses have a landline even if they don’t use it. In those cases, Sky will activate the broadband connection remotely on an appointed day (which might be a few days out from the purchase date) and post you a Sky Hub you can set up yourself on or after that activation date.
If you don’t have a suitable phone line, you’ll need to have one installed by an Openreach engineer before you can get Sky broadband. This installation can be arranged through Sky and will typically cost £20. The engineer will usually be at your home for one to two hours, doing work inside and outside your home and testing the new line.
In either case, you should be connected to Sky broadband within two weeks.
