What is Sky Box Sets?

Sky Box Sets act as the veteran broadcaster’s own personal TV library. Coming as part of the ‘Sky Signature’ package, Box Sets give you access to over 500 series at any one time.

However, it is not a streaming service like Netflix or Disney+. When you see something you like, you download it directly to your Sky Q box and you can then watch it whenever you want.

While this means you might have to wait a few minutes for it to download, you can also access it offline, saving you from potentially disastrous buffering issues. You can also watch Sky Box Sets via the Sky Go app on your laptop, smartphone, or tablet, which is perfect for long journeys and commutes.

As with most on-demand TV services, the titles available will change over time. Sadly, this means that if you have downloaded something, hoping to keep it after Sky bin it, you’ll find it removed from your library.

What’s included in Sky Box Sets

Well, as we just mentioned, things do change around a fair bit. However, you can generally expect a pretty packed roster of award winning TV shows. This ranges from hard hitting classics including The Sopranos and The Wire, to popular comedies like Modern Family.

Without bigging it up too much, if you like TV, then there’s a strong chance there’ll be something for you.

How much does it cost?

Sky Box Sets isn’t available as a standalone product. To get access, you need to purchase Sky Signature, which costs £25 per month on its own. However, Sky Signature also comes with roughly 300 live channels, so all in all it’s not a bad deal.

You can also get Sky Box Sets by signing up to any of Sky’s broadband and TV bundle packages. All of Sky’s TV bundles come with Sky Signature as standard, which in turn includes Sky Box Sets, and you can then choose to add the TV services of your choice, including Sky Cinema, Sky Sports, and Sky Kids.

Is there any other way to watch Sky Box Sets?

Fortunately, there is. It’s also available through NOW TV (which, funnily enough, is owned by Sky). All you need to do is purchase a NOW TV entertainment package for £9.99 a month, or as part of a broadband and TV bundle, and you will be able to stream all the shows that come with Sky Box Sets. 

Is Sky Box Sets available on a rolling contract?

Yes and no. If you want to access Sky box sets through Sky Signature, then you will need to sign an 18-month contract. Subscriptions to NOW TV, however, are available on a rolling monthly basis.
